Your First Prayer Set is a live, guided group prayer experience that helps you and your friends learn how to host God’s presence together.

You gather in person — in a living room, dorm, or church space — and our team joins by Zoom to walk you through a simple, Spirit-led prayer set.

It’s hands-on training for awakening leaders: learning to pray, listen, and lead in community.

What is “Your First Prayer Set?”

  1. You Gather Your Friends
Invite a few friends to meet in person. Bring a Bible, some space to pray, and an openness to God’s presence.

  2. We Join You Live on Zoom
Our Awakening Project team will guide your group through a live prayer set — modeling each part and helping you lead prayers, Scripture, and moments of worship.

  3. You Learn to Lead
You’ll practice leading prayer in real time, receive live prompts and guidance, and walk away ready to lead a prayer set on your own.

How It Works

We’ll start by welcoming everyone and explaining how the hour will flow. Then we’ll lead you through three prayer movements anchored in Scripture:

  1. Consecration – ministry to the Lord; lifting up who God is and giving Him thanks.

  2. Intercession – listening to God on behalf of others.

  3. Contending – praying for our cities and communities.

Throughout the set, we’ll offer simple prompts and invite you to pray silently on your own at times and out loud together with your local group at others. We’ll guide you on what to pray for, keep things paced with transitions, and make it easy to follow along.

What You’ll Gain

FAQs

Do I need experience leading prayer?

You don’t need to come in as a prepared expert — it’s designed to help you learn how to host prayer. By the end, you’ll have a framework you can lead again on your own.

How long is the session?

Plan to be with us for 60 minutes, including intro and closing.

How many people should I invite?

We recommend at least 2, but as many as you like! If you can’t get a group together, please join on your own. We’ll put you in a Zoom room with others for the parts intended for local interactions.

Do I need special equipment?

Just a Zoom connection and a way for your group to see and hear (a laptop, TV, or projector). We will have musicians join the Zoom to lead in worship. You’ll want to bring along a Bible and journal.

Can we do this again later?

Absolutely. Once you’ve led your first set, you’ll be ready to keep going without us.

Who leads the Zoom call?

The Awakening Project team — prayer leaders who will guide, coach, and help you find your rhythm.

Is there a cost?

No cost. Registration helps us prepare your host guide and connect your group to the live call.
